Song of the week:

Are You Sleeping?

Draw 2 identical pictures of each of the following:
A boy with closed eyes
A boy with open eyes
A rising sun
Bells

Lay the pictures out according to the words in the song. Have your child point to each picture whiles singing. This song teaches repeating phrases.

Lyrics: Actions:
Are you sleeping, are you sleeping, (point to each picture of boy with closed eyes)
Brother John, Brother John? (point to each picture of boy with open eyes)
Morning bells are ringing, morning bells are ringing, (point to each picture of the rising sun)
Ding, ding, dong. Ding, ding, dong. (point to each picture of bells)
(repeat)

Practice slowly singing the song with your child. Once you have the rhythm and actions, try it with the audio. Sing it with a high voice. Sing it with a low voice. Sing it loudly. Lastly, sing it softly.
