Our Choirs
Preparatory Choir Classes
Preparatory Classes are designed to prepare young singers for a lifetime of rewarding participation in music. These Fundamental singing experiences will prepare students to eventually participate in more formal choirs. Age-appropriate musical activities promote a love of singing and group music-making.
Cadenza Choir
Cadenza Choir is specially designed for preschoolers, aged 4-5 years. Students explore the joy of moving and making music together. Curriculum is designed to foster self-confidence through activities that encourage singing, expressive speech, active listening, and lots of movement. Forty-five minute sessions are sensitive to the young child’s energy and attention span. Participation in Cadenza Choir classes builds musical literacy and concentration through improvisation and exploration using props such as puppets, scarves, and a variety of percussion instruments. Parents are encouraged to reinforce skills at home. Families will be invited to informal sharing concerts each semester.
Caprice Choir
Caprice Choir is for students enrolled in kindergarten and first grade. Important basic musical concepts are introduced and practiced through a variety of enjoyable singing activities - pitch discrimination, active listening, rhythm play, phrasing, following a conductor, concert etiquette, and introduction to instruments.
