Singing & Music Activities - Week 4

Song of the week:

Tops and Bottoms
(this is a great way to practice washing hands)

Lyrics:
Tops and bottoms, tops an bottoms,
In between, in between,
Scrub them all together, scrub them all together,
Now we’re clean, squeaky clean!

Sing to the tune Frere Jacques. Click here for the melody.

Poem of the week:

He Goes Hop (a new poem)

Lyrics:
See a funny bunny,
He goes hop, hop, hop. (pat your knees each time you say “hop”)
Under trees and bushes,
Ears go flop, flop, flop. (flop your hands like bunny ears each time you say “flop”))
In the farmer’s garden,
Teeth go chop, chop, chop. (clap your hands each time you say “chop”)
When the day is over,
he goes hop, STOP, flop! (Pat your knees on “hop”, clap hands up high on “STOP”and FREEZE for a few seconds, fall down on “flop!”)

Practice saying the poem slowly with your child. Once you have the rhythm and action, try it faster. Think of new things the bunny could do.

Activities:

(Parents, we have made every effort to ensure that YouTube links are safe for our singers. However, it’s always important to monitor children while using YouTube. Thank you!)

Use your imagination or make bumblebee finger puppets. “Fly” your puppets around on your fingers while listening to “Flight of the Bumblebee” by Rimsky-Korsakov and the included poem.

Is your bumblebee flying fast or slow?
What do bees make from the flower nectar they collect?

Print and color the Bumblebee color by note page.
